Project intro

RerunTV turns your own media folders into a retro cable-TV experience: point each channel at a folder, then flip channels like it's live broadcast — complete with CRT scanlines, screen flicker, a channel-change static burst, and an early-2000s digital program guide. The signature trick: channels never "restart." Each channel gets an anchor time the moment you assign it, and tuning in later calculates what would be playing right now if that folder had looped continuously since then — pure arithmetic against the wall clock, nothing running in the background. A Time Machine mode adds VCR-style rewind and a calendar to jump to any date and time. The author says it plainly in the GitHub repo description: "Vibe-coded with Claude Code." The README goes further: "RerunTV was written almost entirely by an AI coding agent (Claude Code) under the project owner's direction." Created 2026-10-12, the repo shows 440 commits, a CI pipeline, an OpenSSF Scorecard badge, and its first release (v0.2.0-beta.3, Windows installer) pushed on 2026-10-19. It ships a built-in synthetic demo library so you can try it without any media of your own.
