Pool Max
8-ball pool on your phone: aim, shoot, play matches — built from prototype to store launch in three weeks, with real players playing every day.
Project intro
Pool Max is 8-ball pool on your phone: pick your angle, take the shot, pot your group of balls, and sink the black 8 to win. It plays by the familiar pool rules everyone knows, so you can pick it up and play a game right away with nothing to learn.
The feel of the game came first: whether the aim line is accurate, whether the balls move the way they should, and whether fouls are called clearly. The author got a single game feeling right before building menus, lobbies and the rest around it, and fixed the stuttering on low-end Android phones through round after round of real testing.
The game is now live on Google Play and free to install, with real players competing in it every day — roughly 30 games a day. There are two ways in: practice on your own or play a proper match, whichever you feel like.
One thing to be clear about: this is an Android phone game, and no iOS version has been mentioned. The author also admits some rough edges were still there at launch, fixed later through fast updates — so do not expect a fully polished finished product.
