Killedar
An offline trek companion for Pune's Sahyadri forts: plan the night before, ask questions on the mountain, listen to its history.
Project intro
Killedar is an offline trek companion for the Sahyadri forts around Pune — Sinhagad, Rajgad and Lohagad to start. It has three screens, and all three keep working when your phone signal dies on the way up. Plan picks a fort and trail, enters your last bus home, and tells you one time to remember: when to leave Pune, based on your own predicted climb time.
On the fort, Ask answers questions like whether there is water on a given plateau, using a small model running on your phone that only answers from that fort's written notes, in English or Marathi, in about 80 words. Listen plays the fort's history aloud in English or Marathi, so you can look at the walls instead of the screen. At home on Wi-Fi you tap Use offline once, and the app, notes, climb times, narration and model all download to the phone.
The design is honest about what it will not do: it never guesses bus times, distances or phone numbers, and if the notes don't cover your question it says so instead of inventing an answer. The project is open source and has no GitHub stars yet, and its hike history is still a synthetic placeholder until the author swaps in his own hikes.
Honest limits: this is a hackathon build for three forts near one city, not a general trekking app, and the fort notes themselves are marked unverified — check locally before you climb. Ask needs a browser with WebGPU and a one-time model download of about 1.5 GB; Plan and Listen work without it.
