Project intro
AI WORMS : They're Everywhere is a one-button whack-a-mole arcade game that runs in the browser. A quantum AI worm has escaped into your house and is possessing everything it touches — when something grows glowing eyes, tap it fast before it tunnels away.
The game runs through eleven worlds: the Kitchen, Living Room, Garage, Yard, a Halloween campfire, Dracula's Castle, Outer Space, the Glowing Deep, Neon Tokyo, and up into the Cloud to face the Mega Worm, with a Christmas bonus level after you win. You whack worms, possessed appliances and villains (they burst into flames); friendly faces — the space pup, the mermaid, the lucky cat, Santa — give a happy bonus and never a penalty. Entangled worms are linked by a beam so tapping one pops both; catching a bouncing worm mid-air scores double. Let five worms escape and the house is theirs, but you can continue from the level you reached. It plays best on a phone in portrait, fills the window on a laptop, and the author insists: sound on.
The author is unusually explicit about how it was made. From the itch.io page: "How it was made: built entirely by AI, directed by a human. Every line of code, every drawing, every sound and all the music came from Claude (Anthropic) through conversation. There are no image or audio files: everything is drawn and synthesized live in the browser. I was the director and playtester. I played every build on an iPhone and a laptop, said what felt wrong, and asked for changes, over more than 140 versions. Claude also wrote test bots that play the levels on their own to check difficulty and catch bugs before each release." Fonts are Bungee and IBM Plex Mono (Google Fonts, open font license). The entry was submitted to AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: TORCH) in October 2026 and is free to play in the browser with no install.
