Duelo de Fotos
A photo duel for two: walk outside, shoot five themes each, and let a local Gemma judge who won.
Project intro
Duelo de Fotos is a game for two people that cannot be played from the couch. Before a walk, each player gets five secret photo themes, like "something rusty" or "something that blinks". Outside, your phone is only a camera. Back home, you drop the photos in, and a Gemma model running on your own computer scores each photo from 0 to 10 with one sentence explaining why, and the scoreboard says who won. Then you argue with the judge, because a small 4B model is sometimes confidently wrong, and the game is built around that instead of hiding it.
The whole point is that the screen is the shortest part of the experience: about a minute before the walk and a minute after, and everything in between happens outside. The photos never leave the machine, because the server only listens on your own computer and talks to nothing but local Ollama. One duel costs nothing extra, no matter how many you play, since there is no paid API in the loop.
Vibe-coded evidence, in the author’s own words in the dev.to article: "I built this with Claude Code, in one long session, and I would rather describe it plainly." And: "The code was written by Claude." GitHub stars: 0 at the 29 October 2026 check.
Honest limits: there is no hosted demo; you run it locally with Java 25 and Ollama, and the interface is in Brazilian Portuguese only. The author is upfront that it has not been played on a real walk yet: the judge was tested with drawings, not photos taken outside, and night photos are the case the author trusts least. iPhone photos must be saved as JPEG, since HEIC is not accepted, and there is no list of past duels.
