OutClocked
A daily trivia game where the clock halves every question - 0.94 seconds for the last.
Project intro
OutClocked is a daily trivia game with a brutal twist: you answer 7 questions, get 60 seconds for the first, and the clock halves after every question - 30, 15, 7.5, 3.75, 1.88, down to 0.94 seconds for the last. Answer wrong or let the clock run out and you're done for the day. Everyone gets the same questions, refreshed at 6am ET. Sign in to start a streak and play against your friends, or replay past games for practice. The rules page visualizes the halving clock as shrinking tiles ending in "that dark speck" of 0.94 seconds - a neat piece of game-design communication in itself. Author karolgajda launched it on Hacker News on October 16, 2026: "I used Claude Code to build this game. The first version took a couple of hours and in total I've spent about 10 hours tweaking and improving it." The stack is deliberately simple: one Cloudflare Worker, D1 (SQLite), plain JS, no framework. The name is a nod to Soundgarden's "Outshined". A crisp example of a polished daily game loop shipped in an evening by one person.
