ClariRec
Mac-native screenshot OCR + formula-to-LaTeX: ⌥S to capture, fully on-device, $9.99 one-time Pro — vibe-coded to the Mac App Store.
Project intro
ClariRec is a Mac-native screenshot OCR and formula recognition tool: press ⌥S anywhere, select a region, and get editable text in milliseconds — handled entirely on-device by macOS Vision, with no account and no uploads. Screenshotted formulas become LaTeX in about 2 seconds (on-device GLM-OCR) with a live KaTeX preview, then paste into Word for Mac as editable equations, or export .tex, Markdown or transparent PNG. It's on the Mac App Store at version 2.4.6 (macOS 14+), with core OCR permanently free and a $9.99 one-time Pro for unlimited formulas. The author's own YouTube video tells the whole vibe-coding story: "近乎零基础,我是如何通过 Vibe Coding 把一款原生 macOS 软件从零做到 Mac App Store 上架的?" — from early mistakes (PaddleOCR memory bloat, coordinate offsets, recognition speed) to switching from generic screenshot OCR to formula-to-LaTeX, and using multi-model auditing to keep AI-written code honest.
