Dead Zone RTS
Your last foothold in a city overrun: fortify the camp, scavenge supplies, and hold the line through the night.
Project intro
Dead Zone RTS is an endless survival RTS that runs entirely on the front end, rendered with HTML Canvas. You must fortify your defences against hordes of zombies, scavenge supplies, build your camp and keep it lit through the night, holding your last foothold in a city overrun. The isometric camp has guard towers, survivors, barricades and supply caches, and the game opens on a title screen promising exactly that fight before dropping you into the defence. The author, Ahmad Saeed, is direct about how it was made: it was vibe coded with Claude and Codex, with no tooling other than those models, and the graphics took several tries to get right — he went through some pains teaching Codex a strategy to create high-quality sprite animations of rigged 3D figures, a methodology he then encoded into a downloadable sprite-animation skill. The game itself is vanilla JavaScript and Canvas 2D, the source is on GitHub (asaeed/zombie), and the playable build is live in the browser. Honest note on the screenshot in this batch: it captures the game's title screen while assets were still loading, so the main agent may want to re-capture a mid-play frame before publishing.
