Project intro

DhakaToPabna-2D is a pixel-art bus ride across Bangladesh that you watch in your browser. A little coach rolls west from Dhaka to Pabna, about 205 km, with sunrise, sunset, traffic, rickshaws, cattle trucks, and a stop at Food Village along the way, all drawn procedurally in one self-contained page.

The fun is in the details passing by the window. The sky shifts from pre-dawn blue to noon cyan to sunset orange to night black, streetlights and headlights switch on when it gets dark, and named landmarks roll past: the National Martyrs' Memorial, the Jamuna Bridge toll plaza, a railway bridge with a crossing train, and the Pabna Bus Terminal at the end. A facts panel updates live as you pass each stop.

You control the pace: play, pause, restart, and 1x, 2x or 4x speed, plus a departure time picker. The whole simulated trip runs about five and a half hours at normal speed, so the faster speeds are the sensible way to watch it. The project is open source and has 1 GitHub star.

Honest limits: this is a watch-and-enjoy animation, not a game and not a travel planner. There is nothing to steer, no booking or route planning, and it was put together in a single sitting, so treat it as a charming one-page animation rather than a finished product.
