OMP Desk

OMP Desk is a VS Code extension that acts as a housekeeper for Oh My Pi (omp): every folder you have opened and every conversation lives in one place, so you no longer have to dig through several windows to find a session.

Its most practical point is that sessions do not die when you close a tab: close a tab, reload the window, or even upgrade VS Code, and the session is still running — switch back and you are talking to the same process again. In the same tab you can switch at any time between the rich-text Chat view and omp's native Terminal, and the cross-window session view shows live status and unread markers, with one click jumping you to the window where that session lives.

On top of that, it turns a pile of omp features into a graphical interface: model and Agent editors, global and project settings editors, Skills, Tools and MCP views, provider login, usage stats, a slash-command list, and a provider quota status bar; in the rich-text Chat you can follow up while it runs, roll back a branch, paste images and code blocks, and get a desktop notification when the Agent finishes or has a question for you.

Three things to say up front: first, it is an unofficial independent integration, not something from the omp team, and it is still in Preview; second, it only supports Windows 10/11, needs VS Code 1.110 or newer, and you have to install omp and log in to your providers yourself — it does not install them for you; third, the project is very new, with the repository created on 7 October 2026 and only 2 stars on GitHub, but it has already shipped 21 releases in under a month, with a push as recent as 30 October, so it really does iterate fast.
