Wanloria
Free bilingual travel guides for 160 cities: verified places, day itineraries, and hiking trails.
Project intro
Wanloria is a free, bilingual (Spanish/English) travel web app that turns every city into a verified story. Instead of rewritten listicles, it publishes verified places with real opening hours and prices traced back to official sources, 1-3 day itineraries with walking times, "free things" lists, signposted hiking trails with GPX downloads and elevation profiles, and an AI travel agent that builds your trip as you chat. The live site currently covers 160 cities and 4,242 places with photos, and its anti-hallucination methodology is genuinely interesting: every fact (opening hours, price, website, whether a trail is circular) must trace back to a source or it is not shown; LLM-written descriptions are generated only from verified fields and reviewed before publishing; hiking times follow the DIN 33466 formula with the MIDE 1-5 effort scale; every public page is server-rendered HTML with JSON-LD, hreflang and an llms.txt so AI crawlers get the facts right too. The Wanloria team documented the build in an official dev.to article on October 3, 2026: "We built it largely by pair-programming with Claude Code and Cursor." The interesting part, they write, is not the AI but the rules they gave it so it could not make things up. A textbook case of AI-assisted engineering done with discipline.
