Project intro

Kanso is a cozy game about finding calm: you grow and tend living digital bonsai trees in quiet, low-poly scenes, at an unhurried pace. No timers, no fail states — light puzzle and simulation elements orbit the tree at the center of every scene. The landing page says it plainly: "A relaxing game that helps you cultivate inner peace through the art of Bonsai." It placed #9 out of 945 entries at Vibe Jam 2026 and took home the "Most Zen" special award — fitting, for a game whose entire pitch is slowness. Per the creator's own jam submission: "The creator built it in about a week with Codex, to make something that brings people joy." The submission form lists AI provider OpenAI, AI tools Codex, engine Three.js, and "Code by AI: Most of it." It's also genuinely maintained, not a jam-and-abandon: the in-game changelog runs from v0.22.0 through v1.0.0 "Bonsai 1.0", with the catalog entry updated 2026-10-08 and reverified working on Oct 18. Note: some directory listings mention Claude alongside Codex, but every primary source (submission form, catalog entry) names Codex only — so that's what's claimed here.
