Isometric Warsaw
The whole city of Warsaw as an isometric pixel map: 197,000 buildings, 1.9 million trees, trams and flights on real timetables.
Project intro
Isometric Warsaw turns the entire city of Warsaw into an isometric pixel map you can explore in your browser: all 517 square kilometres, 197,000 buildings and 1.9 million trees drawn as little pixel blocks, with 26 tram lines, over 1,600 trains a day and around 370 flights moving on real timetables — and real sun, seasons and weather to go with them.
It is easy to play with: drag the map around, then jump into the flight simulator and fly your own plane over the city. It works in English and Polish, needs no sign-up, and has no ads. In its first week, over 20,000 people from 94 countries visited, spending 700-plus hours exploring, and more than 2,700 people flew over 5,700 times — people treat it as a city you can play with, not a static picture.
Author Bedirhan Yıldırım says the first version took just two days, and he has kept adding features based on user feedback. The code is not open source yet — he says he hopes to release a version later — so for now, the version on his own website is the one you can play.
One thing to keep in mind: the trams and flights are simulated from real timetables, not live positions. Enjoy it as a pixel city to explore and fly over, not as a live transport tracker.
