Palmera Bay
A free sunset drive through a little pixel seaside city: no races, no timer, just you, a red convertible, and the radio.
Project intro
Palmera Bay is a free little driving game you play right in the browser. You cruise a small tropical seaside city at sunset in a fast red convertible — palm trees, string lights, a pier, neon shop signs — with a synth radio playing. There are no opponents, no checkpoints and no timer. You just drive, drift, hit the nitro and enjoy the view.
The controls are simple: W/A/S/D or arrow keys to drive and steer, Space to drift, Shift for nitro, V to switch cameras, C to change the car's paint and M for the radio. On a phone, on-screen buttons appear instead. Everything in the city — the streets, the buildings, the palms, the engine sound and the radio — is generated by code, with no picture or sound files.
Vibe-coded evidence, in the author's own words in the repository README: "I vibe-coded this game almost effortlessly using Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5 (medium effort)." The author says the first attempt ran for about 30 minutes and the whole thing took around 2 hours. GitHub stars: 0, checked on 29 October 2026.
Honest limits: this is a finished one-day build from 23 September 2026 — all six commits are from that day, and there have been no updates since, so expect a small, complete toy rather than a game still being expanded. It needs a browser and an internet connection for its pixel font (it falls back to a system font offline).
