Project intro

OpenTodo is a self-hosted, open-source to-do app you run on your own server: Today/Upcoming views, projects, boards, reminders, shared lists for family or team, offline everywhere, and optional end-to-end encryption. It is built with a spec-driven workflow the author describes first-hand: every feature starts with a written OpenSpec spec (proposal, behavior with testable scenarios, design, tasks), Claude Code builds from the spec, CI runs Go and web tests plus spec validation, phone-layout and accessibility checks, and the author reviews every change before merge. The app also uses AI beyond being built with it: an in-app assistant takes your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini key (or a local model) and suggests changes you approve first, an MCP server lets Claude Desktop read and update tasks, and a CLI serves coding agents. Solo project, 58 stars, pushed daily, AGPL-3.0, with a no-sign-up live demo.
