Project intro

Mateusz Muszarski's portfolio is a brutalist poster site rebuilt in four days after its predecessor — a WebGL flight from Earth to Neptune — scored 34 on mobile Lighthouse and showed phones an 'Oops!' screen. The rebuild runs on a simple rule set the author wrote before any code: plan before code (a project wiki every AI session reads first), practical first then wow, research then pick (20 Awwwards-winning portfolios measured on desktop and throttled phones for Wow vs Practicality), show don't tell, keep every version, and nothing ships unchecked (types, tests, accessibility, speed on every change). The result: Astro, three languages, one font, four hand-written shaders that never gate the content — type fitted edge to edge on cobalt, flat saturated colour, hard offset shadows — with 95 to 100 on mobile Lighthouse, real HTML links on the first screen, and the same content on every screen. The site doubles as a case study of running AI like a team: the author briefs a lead agent, subagents research in parallel, MCP servers bring real data (Mobbin screens, shadcn registry, Playwright), hooks guard risky commands, skills and gates check every change, and the author reviews and decides, with every lesson written back to the wiki. The case-study page walks through every rejected direction (Drafting Table, Orbit, Toybox, Exhibit), every round of the Poster design, and the measured trade-offs against the 20 award winners. Note on scope: this is a personal portfolio site, not a tool or app — its value is the live, fast, usable site plus the fully documented AI build process. No public repository or star count was found for it, so no star claim is made.
