UnVault Launcher

Think the Epic launcher is too slow and bloated? This lightweight launcher installs engines, manages projects and assets, and resumes interrupted downloads.

UnVault Launcher is a lightweight launcher for Unreal Engine users: installing, updating, modifying, verifying and repairing engines all happen in one window, and you can untick platforms, debug symbols and templates you don't need to save disk space. If you find the official launcher slow and bloated, this can be your everyday entry point. It also manages projects and assets: your own projects can be grouped; plugins can be installed into engines or projects (recompiling when needed) and asset packs can be added straight to projects; downloads support pause, resume and retry, plus a download history, so a broken connection doesn't mean starting over. It is not meant to replace the official launcher, but to sit alongside it: it uses your existing engines, plugins, Vault cache and project folders. You sign in on Epic's own page, so the app never sees your password; your session is encrypted, stored only in your own Windows account, and sent only to Epic; downloads run over HTTPS and are checked against hashes in Epic's manifests; it collects no telemetry, runs no background service, and needs no admin rights. Three things to know: first, it is unofficial — the author states it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Epic Games, and it uses Epic's undocumented launcher API; second, it runs only on 64-bit Windows 10/11 as a single exe with nothing to install, but because it isn't code-signed, Windows will warn about an unknown publisher the first time you open it; third, as checked on 2 November 2026, the repo has 46 stars, 71 commits and 6 releases, and is still being updated.
