Project intro

Astropilot VR is a small space flying game for phones, and the idea is dead simple: hold your phone sideways like a steering wheel, turn your body to steer, and fly through one neon ring after another. See how far you can get. Miss a single ring and the game is over.

The game itself is light: the whole thing is a single web page, nothing to download or install, just open it and play. There is a tutorial plus easy, medium, and hard modes, the track is put together randomly each run so no two starts are the same, and a bit of procedurally generated synthwave music plays while you fly.

One thing to know: it only works on a phone. You have to hold the phone sideways and let the web page read the phone's motion sensors. iPhones and Chrome on Android both work, but on a computer you will only see the start screen and a QR code prompt, and you cannot play.

This is what the author built for the 2026 Vibe Jam weekend competition. The code is open source, just one web page plus 3D rendering, tiny in size and quick to load. But it is a competition entry, so do not expect a big game with long-term updates. The fun is chasing one more run, one ring further.
