PodBookCase
Every book podcast guests talk about, on one shelf: 3,310 books and 6,483 mentions, each with the original quote and a link to that exact moment.
Project intro
PodBookCase gathers every book podcast guests talk about onto a single shelf. Inspired by HackerBooks, its author posted it to Hacker News on November 4, 2026, saying Claude basically built it; the data was refreshed on November 6 and now covers 3,310 books, 6,483 mentions, 1,235 guests, and 2,307 episodes.
It covers seven shows: Lex Fridman, Lenny's Podcast, Tim Ferriss, Conversations with Tyler, Dwarkesh, EconTalk, and 80,000 Hours — Tim Ferriss alone accounts for 1,312 books. For every book you can see who mentioned it on which show, what they actually said, and jump straight to that moment in the episode.
Finding books is easy: filter by 22 topics, from fiction and history to business and technology; filter by what kind of guest mentioned them — founders, investors, scientists, writers, and more; or sort by most recommended, most guests, or most recent. The top book is Andy Grove's High Output Management, mentioned 15 times by 15 guests.
Keep in mind: the quotes are short excerpts from each show's published transcripts, and the ranking counts mentions — praise and criticism both count, so a high rank isn't the same as a recommendation. The author says the parsed podcast data will be made public soon.
