pw-repl
A shared terminal REPL for driving Chromium with Playwright: you and your AI agents type into the same browser session and see each other's moves.
Project intro
pw-repl is a terminal tool for driving a browser by hand — or rather, for letting you and your AI agents drive the same browser together. You type commands at a pw> prompt, and an agent can send the exact same commands from its shell. Everything shows up in the shared REPL, so you always see what the agent is doing, and it sees what you did.
It talks to Chromium through the Chrome DevTools Protocol, in the browser you already use (tabs and logins intact) or in a headless one it starts itself. From the prompt you can snapshot a page, click by reference, read network requests and console errors, fake or delay API responses, emulate a phone or dark mode, and record what you did as a replayable script.
The sharing part is the point: an agent becomes just another client of the REPL, with its own selected tab, and a built-in skill file teaches it how to use the tool. Watching a bug happen by hand and handing the agent the exact steps is the workflow it was made for.
It is a terminal tool, not a web app: you need Node.js 20 or newer and a Chromium-based browser, and the author says it has only been tested on Linux, so macOS behavior is unconfirmed. It is free and MIT-licensed, installed with one npx command.
