Tiberava
A free ancient Rome city-builder that runs right in your browser: found a city, manage resources, and lead troops into battle.
Project intro
Tiberava is a free city-building game set in ancient Rome. No download, no sign-up — it opens right in your browser, on desktop or phone. You start from nothing on the banks of the Tiber: raise houses, lay roads, stock up on food and resources, and look after your people's daily needs.
As the city grows, there is more to juggle: keep residents supplied with services, deal with emergencies like fires, and train soldiers, arrange them in formation, and fight off attackers. A November 5 update added a battle formation preview, so you can see exactly how each unit lines up — and where the enemy is — before you commit.
Author cayodister posted it to Hacker News on October 18, 2026, with the title “Vibe coded a city builder set in ancient Rome”. On October 22 he posted again: the game had moved to a new domain, dropped the ads, and added new visuals and a battle mode. It keeps getting more fleshed out.
One thing to know: the interface defaults to Spanish, but you can switch to English in the top-right corner. It is a one-person side project, so the visuals and gameplay are still changing — run through the tutorial first and you will get the hang of it much faster.
