Missile Command
A browser remake of the classic arcade Missile Command: defend six cities, buy upgrades in the shop between waves, and play free with nothing to install.
Project intro
Missile Command is a browser remake of the 1980 arcade classic — open the page and play, no install needed. You defend six cities, shooting down enemy missiles, bombers and splitting warheads falling from the sky; every city you let through is a city lost.
It adds plenty on top of the original: four difficulty levels, where less ammo means a higher score multiplier; waves that get faster and denser as you go; combo multipliers for consecutive intercepts plus bonuses for accurate shooting; and scores that go on a global leaderboard, with your personal best kept locally too.
The best part is the shop between waves: spend the points you earned on upgrades — a sonic blast that clears a whole area, a big-area super bomb, a satellite base that fires from above, shields, city and base repairs, plus faster missiles and a wider blast radius. After a match, an AI analysis reviews how you played and suggests improvements, something the original never had.
Two things to note: first, this is a fan remake paying tribute to the original, not an official sequel; second, its repo has only 9 stars, so it is a niche project, and since the latest commit date did not show up when read, its activity is judged by the demo site itself, which was playable when read on 3 November 2026.
