Project intro

Warsaw in voxels is a 3D voxel map of central Warsaw: a 3,950 by 3,150 metre stretch of the city centre built one metre per block, viewed from the spire of the Palace of Culture and Science, so the whole centre feels like a diorama you can rotate and inspect. Day, golden hour and night lighting can be switched, and trams run along real track geometry.

The data is real: the map uses OpenStreetMap street data plus Polish official LiDAR and aerial imagery and tree data, so building positions and street layouts are not made up. It opens in a browser with nothing to install — just drag to rotate and zoom into the details.

The author is Piotr Migdał. The repository was created on 13 October 2026 and, checked on 4 November, had 152 commits and 42 stars under the MIT licence. The live demo footer credits it “by Piotr Migdał & Opus 5.5”.

One clarification: tram positions are simulated, not live — you see the lines and routes, not “the next tram arrives in three minutes”. Treat it as a beautiful, playable 3D map, not a live transport tool.
