Project intro

BillManager keeps an eye on your fixed monthly bills: rent, utilities, streaming subscriptions, payday — all in one place, with reminders before each due date, so at the end of the month you can see at a glance what went out and what came in. The author states in the repo's About section that this is a vibe-coded app. It has 55 stars on GitHub, was still being updated on November 6, 2026, and the latest version is v4.13.5.

It tracks more than spending — income too. Recurring bills and regular deposits can both be logged, on weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly or custom schedules, with autopay support. Bills can be grouped by account, the calendar shows which payment lands on which day, and payment history and charts help you review where the money went.

Sharing works too: data is fully separated between users, bills can be grouped by personal, household or business, and shared with others to split — by ratio, by fixed amount, or evenly. Invites go by email, permissions can be split by role, and housemates splitting rent no longer need a spreadsheet.

The catch is the setup: you have to host it yourself, on a machine or server that runs Docker and PostgreSQL — it is not a download-and-go app. The Android client is still in closed testing on Google Play, and the iOS version is not here yet. The license is a modified MIT that stops third parties from turning it into a paid SaaS; hosting it for yourself is unaffected.
