TV Home Studio
Three root-free replacement home screens for Fire TV: install with one tap from your phone, then swap wallpapers and layouts yourself.
Project intro
TV Home Studio replaces the home screen on your Fire TV: no root needed, it swaps out the stock home screen full of ads and recommendations for one of three looks — Classic, Cinema, or Panel — plus a pure-wallpaper screensaver. Pick whichever you like.
Installing it is painless: put the companion app on your phone, join the same Wi-Fi, turn on ADB debugging on the TV, and one tap installs the new home screen. You can also swap wallpapers and adjust the layout from your phone, or install it from a computer with ADB commands. All three home screens follow the same idea: your most-used apps up front, with time, weather, and power easy to see.
Author sreeego says in the README that the whole project was completely vibe coded with Codex, and tested on a Fire TV Stick HD. Version 1.8.0 installers are out, the latest commit was November 3, 2026, and it has 22 stars on GitHub.
One thing to know: it only works on Android-based Fire TVs (API 26 and up) — Fire OS 5/6 and Vega OS devices can’t install it. Before installing, you need ADB debugging on the TV and the phone on the same Wi-Fi. The wallpapers are ones you pick yourself, not bundled in, and the author notes this is community software — if something goes wrong, you’re on your own.
