WLED More-Info

Opening a WLED light in Home Assistant only changes brightness and color? This puts effects, palettes, and presets in the popup.

WLED More-Info is an integration for people who run WLED light strips in Home Assistant. Before, opening a WLED light's detail popup only let you change brightness, the main color, and a few basics — to switch effects, palettes, or an effect's own settings, you had to open WLED's own interface. With this installed, opening any WLED light shows the full set of WLED controls right in the popup, no jumping back and forth. It fills exactly the gaps in the stock popup: a second color (and a third when an effect needs one), a palette list with previews, each effect's own sliders and options (named exactly as they are in WLED), an effect list grouped by type and searchable, and a preset list. Light groups work too — change the effect, color, speed, and intensity for every light in a group in one go. Setup needs no cards and no dashboard resources: install it as a custom integration from HACS, restart, add the integration and leave the default switch on. After that, whether you open a WLED light from the dashboard, search, history, or the phone app, you get the same controls. It talks to the lights through Home Assistant's own WLED connection, so the browser never connects to a light directly, and it still works from the app when you're away from home. Three things to note. First, you need Home Assistant 2026.10 or newer, with the official WLED integration already connected. Second, only lights created by the WLED integration get this popup; the main WLED light (the one that only adjusts brightness) keeps the stock controls. Third, as checked on 2 November 2026, the repo has 2 stars, shipped 5 versions up to 0.4.0 within 5 days of its 18 October creation, and its latest commit was on 20 October; the author says in the community post that it was tested on a real Home Assistant 2026.10 setup and real WLED hardware.
