Hacker News Analytics is a public dashboard for Hacker News data: more than 50 million stories and comments are in there. You can look up totals, daily posting volume, the busiest hours, and which domains and authors show up most. Just open the page — no registration, no API key. The sidebar splits into Overview, Stories, Insights, People, Domains, Activity, Compare, Momentum, Search, and SQL Lab. Half the data comes from live queries against a free public ClickHouse instance, and half from pre-computed snapshots — the page says plainly that the data runs through the morning of 5 November 2026. The author posted it to Hacker News on 3 November 2026, joking that it was fully vibe-coded. The repo was created the same day and currently has 0 stars on GitHub. The whole site is a single page: no Python packages installed, no build step, and the author says it was mostly pieced together by three different models. One thing to know: the heavy historical stats are pre-computed snapshots, so the author has to re-run a script or a scheduled job to refresh them — at screenshot time the snapshots hadn't updated for 44.6 hours, so "latest data" and "historical totals" aren't equally fresh. It also depends entirely on that free public ClickHouse instance: if the instance goes down, the page has no data.
