FounderTrace
Weekend-built YC founder genealogy: trace which startups turned their employees into the next generation of YC founders.
项目介绍
FounderTrace answers a question Paul Graham asked out loud on X: is there a chain longer than three generations of YC startups founded by former employees of other YC startups? The answer turned out to be four — Auctomatic (W07) to GoCardless (S11) to Duffel (S18) to Vizzly (S22) — and this site maps the entire genealogy so you can explore it yourself. Search across 6,000+ YC companies and open any founder tree to see who worked where before founding what. The front page ranks the biggest "founder factories" (Airbnb and Stripe have each spawned dozens of YC companies), the fastest-accelerating talent pipelines, and the hottest pools since 2020 — catnip for founders, investors, and anyone hiring from companies that produce founders. All data comes from Crustdata's enriched profile API; the site is free and needs no signup. The kicker is how it was built: the maker vibe coded the whole thing in a single weekend to answer PG's tweet. As his Product Hunt launch post puts it: "So I vibe coded the answer in a weekend using https://crustdata.com."
