项目介绍

Porcini Radar is an offline-first foraging companion that answers the two questions every porcini hunter asks: is it worth going this weekend, and where? Save your spots with GPS while you are in the woods, and the app estimates the porcini flush for the next 16 days from the last three weeks of weather — rain weighted most 10 to 14 days back, soil temperature (ideal 11 to 18 C), soil moisture, and penalties for cold nights and dry weeks — using free Open-Meteo data. A diary logs each outing with photo, GPS, woodland type and count, and a 'Did the radar get it right?' comparison checks past radar scores against good and empty outings, so you learn whether the heuristic works for your woods. A compass and SOS card give a 'back to the car' arrow and large-type coordinates, and the Ask tab runs Google's Gemma model entirely in the phone's browser, on the CPU, with no connection after a one-time download of about 720 MB. Everything stays on the phone: spots, diary and photos live in IndexedDB, and the only network calls are the model download and the weather download. The app deliberately refuses to tell you whether a mushroom is edible — small models make mistakes, and with Amanita phalloides a mistake kills — and instead points you to a mycological inspection service. Built for the DEV Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge, Week 1: Touch Grass. Honest limits, as the author states: the radar is a heuristic, not a guarantee; the Ask model needs a Wi-Fi download first; and the app is a phone-first PWA, best installed from Chrome on Android.
