Postwhisk is a lightweight web app that whisks rough text into platform-ready social media posts. Paste up to 2,000 characters of rough notes, pick a tone — neutral, educational, promotional, fun and more — and Postwhisk rewrites it for each platform, one post at a time, in editable cards with character counts, copy buttons and per-platform regenerate. The key design choice is privacy: it runs on your own Ollama models, either a local Ollama server or the Ollama API, so nothing is stored in the cloud. In API mode your key stays in memory only until you close the tab, and in local mode nothing you paste ever leaves your machine. The author built it with plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript and no frameworks or build step, with a small Node relay for API mode (browsers block direct calls to the Ollama API) and a Vercel rewrite rule for the hosted demo; the default models are Gemma (gemma4:31b) for API mode and Qwen (qwen3.5:2b) for local mode. It was entered in the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend. Honest limits, as the author states them: the demo page itself loads as an empty bowl, but generating posts requires your own model connection — a local Ollama server or an Ollama API key — so the hosted demo does not generate anything out of the box; and the author credits 'Claude' (not specifically 'Claude Code') for the design, code and iteration, which is reflected in the aiTools field.
