Common Ground

项目介绍

Common Ground is a tiny Telegram bot and Mini App built around a single shared ritual: everyone waters the same tree. Send /start to @commongroundlabbot, open the garden, and tap to water — each watering adds 120 growth units over two minutes, and the garden updates in real time so you can watch flowers of progress planted by strangers appear alongside your own. The interface is in Russian ("common ground / общий цифровой сад"), the vibe is deliberately quiet: one drop from you, two minutes of growth for everyone. The project started life as a test vehicle, not a product. In July 2026 Telegram began inviting developers into a private Serverless test, and in October Mini App hosting joined the package — code, database and interface all living on Telegram's infrastructure with no server to maintain. The author built this garden to answer a practical question: could he ditch his two VPSs and run a small social app entirely on Telegram? The clever bit is architectural: nothing wakes up every second; each watering's timestamp is simply saved, and growth is calculated when the garden is read. The vibe-coding evidence is the author's own words: "I vibe-coded the initial bot in one iteration." The full source — bot, Mini App, benchmarks and raw measurements — is open on GitHub at jabrailkhalil/telegram-serverless-vs-vps (pushed October 17, 2026), built with JavaScript, Telegram's SDK and SQLite. After weeks of benchmarking, the author's honest verdict was that VPSs still win on database speed, but for a prototype, Telegram Serverless is a genuine free start. What makes Common Ground worth a look is not the benchmark table but the object itself: a small piece of digital commons in an age of solo feeds. No account, no signup beyond Telegram — just a tree that only grows while people are alive to water it.
