Lazy Apply

Lazy Apply is a Chrome extension that fills job applications for you: open a posting on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or a company careers page, click the sloth, and it reads the form and fills everything it can from your CV. A deterministic mapper handles the obvious fields with no model call, then a local model drafts the rest, and every sensitive item — salary, sponsorship, demographic questions, consent boxes, every free-text answer — comes back as an approval card instead of being filled silently.

The safety rules live in code, not in the prompt: the extension never clicks Submit, never types passwords, never solves CAPTCHAs and never creates accounts. It hands control back for uploads, video answers and sign-ins with “Your turn” cards, and ends with a review table of every field it touched and how (Auto, Approved, Edited, You did it, Skipped), the Submit button outlined in green for you to press yourself. Page text is treated as data, so an instruction smuggled into a job post cannot make it click anything.

Vibe-coded evidence, in the author's own words on DEV (26 October 2026): “Spec first, then Claude Code. Honest limits: Lazy Apply is not a hosted app and has no online demo — it is installed locally as an unpacked Chrome extension and needs Ollama on your own machine with a Gemma 3 model pulled (4B for mapping, 12B for better drafts). Everything runs on localhost, so there is nothing to try in the browser here; the repository page is the demo link. Workday support was added after the challenge deadline, and the author notes a benchmark placeholder in the post (“[ADD YOUR NUMBERS: 4B ≈ X tok/s, 12B ≈ Y tok/s]”) that had not been filled in.
