项目介绍

Zenolet is a serverless, privacy-first progressive web app for reading free ebooks the way you would read a book: text flows horizontally in single- or double-column spreads, you turn pages instead of scrolling endlessly, and your place is kept in a compressed link or QR code you can open on another device. The default library is a curated subset of the 1,000 most popular free ebooks from Project Gutenberg, and anyone can fork it to publish their own curated micro-library on any static host.

Everything runs 100% client-side: no user accounts, no tracking, no server databases and no subscription fees. Books and reading positions are cached in the browser for offline reading, and a Cloudflare Worker acts only as a CORS proxy for cross-domain downloads. The reader is built for long-form reading on any display size, with columns and pages that reflow when the window resizes or rotates.

The author calls the approach what it is. From his launch post on 2026-10-23: "We can ask LLMs to create things for us. Yes, you may call this vibe-coding, but would you rather have something vibe-coded vs. nothing at all? In this case, I'll choose the vibes." He describes starting from a conversation with an LLM about the design, then building the reader from there, and the project has since reached version 1.0. Zenolet is free and open source under MIT (0 stars on GitHub at drafting time, with 96 commits and 2 releases).
