Hollowgrin turns the shell game around. A huge pumpkin-headed spider pulls a candy from its mouth and hides it under one of three tin cups. You shuffle the cups while it watches; when its patience runs out, or as soon as you press Enter, it slams the table, picks a cup, and waits for you to lift it. Empty, and the round is yours. Candy, and it eats one of your fingers. A night is three matches, each harder than the last: take a match with three wins before it has eaten four fingers, and between matches you eat the candy you won, your bitten fingers grow back, and you tear off one of its legs. It follows the candy with its eyes, so speed alone never loses it — you must use real shell-game tricks: cups passing so close one hides the other, two meeting and turning back, the candy flicked behind a cup, or a swap made while it looks up at you. The cup it stares at glows amber while calm and red as it gets angry, and a dim glow jumping between cups means it has lost track. Your middle finger makes it roar and glare at you for about two seconds instead of the cups — your moment to swap or flick — but it only tolerates a few per match, and one too many costs that finger. Later matches add table items: wax candy, chewing gum, a rat trap, or Lefty, a severed hand. It plays in the browser and on a phone, with headphones recommended.
